Business Profile optimization
Improve categories, services, descriptions, opening hours, images and other profile details that influence discovery and conversion.
Strengthen your presence across Google Maps and local results so people searching in your area can discover, trust and contact your business.
Why it matters
Local SEO helps search engines understand where your business operates, what it offers and why it is relevant to nearby customers. It connects your website, Google Business Profile and trusted directory information into one consistent local presence.
The work is tailored to your actual service areas and commercial priorities. Instead of chasing visibility everywhere, we focus on the locations and searches most likely to produce calls, visits and qualified leads.

In detail
When someone searches for a service with a place in mind, such as “dentist Nugegoda”, “AC repair Piliyandala” or “hotel near Galle Fort”, Google usually shows a map with three businesses before any normal website result. On a phone, that map can fill the whole first screen. If your business is not in those three listings, many customers will never scroll far enough to see your website.
Google decides who appears in the map using three broad signals: relevance (does your business clearly offer what was searched), distance (how close you are to the searcher or the place named) and prominence (how well known and trusted your business looks online). Distance you cannot change. Local SEO is the work of making your relevance and prominence as strong as possible for the areas you actually serve.
Many Sri Lankan businesses have a Google Business Profile that was created years ago, sometimes by a customer or a previous employee, and never properly completed. Common problems we find are the wrong primary category, an old phone number, missing opening hours, no services listed, a pin placed on the wrong road, or duplicate listings splitting the reviews between them.
We start by getting ownership and verification sorted, then complete and correct every part of the profile that affects discovery and trust.
Google cross-checks your business name, address and phone number against other places they appear: directories, social media pages, booking platforms, supplier listings and local news. When these details differ, for example an old Colombo address on one site and a new Kandy address on another, it weakens Google’s confidence that your listing is accurate.
We find the listings that matter for your industry in Sri Lanka, correct inconsistencies and add your business to relevant, reputable directories. For hotels, restaurants and tour operators this also includes travel and booking platforms, where many visitors start their search.
The number, quality and recency of reviews influence both your map ranking and whether a searcher chooses you over the business next door. Buying reviews or posting fake ones breaks Google’s rules and can get a profile suspended, so we never do it.
Instead we set up a simple, ethical routine for asking genuine customers for a review, for example a short link or QR code shared after a completed job or stay, and a process for replying to every review, including negative ones, in a calm and helpful way. Thoughtful replies are seen by every future customer who reads your reviews.
Your website still matters for local search. Google looks at your site to confirm what you offer and where. If you genuinely serve several towns or have more than one branch, a dedicated page for each location helps you appear for searches in those places.
Those pages must be genuinely useful: real addresses and directions, the services available at that branch, staff or photos from that location, and local customer questions answered. Pages that only swap the town name are treated as low quality by Google, so we do not create them.
Local SEO usually shows earlier movement than general SEO because the competition is limited to your area. Fixing a broken or incomplete profile can improve visibility within weeks. Building enough reviews and local authority to compete in busy areas such as central Colombo normally takes several months of steady work.
We report on what actually affects your business: map and local search positions for your important searches, calls and direction requests from your profile, website visits from local search and enquiries received. We cannot promise a fixed ranking position, and anyone who does is guessing, but you will always see what was done and what changed.

FAQ
Local SEO is the work of improving how your business appears when people search for products or services in a specific area, especially in the Google Maps results. It covers your Google Business Profile, business listings, reviews and location information on your website.
You can appear in Google Maps with only a Google Business Profile, but a website makes it much easier to rank well and convert visitors. Google uses your website to confirm what you offer and where, and customers often check it before calling.
Yes. Service-area businesses such as plumbers, cleaners, tutors or mobile repair services can set a service area instead of a public address. We set this up correctly so you can appear for searches in the areas you cover without showing your home address.
Fixing an incomplete or incorrect Google Business Profile can make a difference within a few weeks. Competing for busy searches in areas like Colombo usually takes three to six months of consistent work on reviews, listings and content.
Google only removes reviews that break its policies, such as spam, fake or offensive content, and we can help you report those. Genuine negative reviews cannot be removed, but a professional reply and a steady flow of new positive reviews reduce their impact.
Yes. Each branch needs its own verified profile, consistent details and, where useful, its own location page on your website. We manage this so all branches are presented consistently without competing against each other.
